Student Dress and Appearance Policy
Student dress
is a responsibility reserved mainly for parents and pupils. We encourage
comfort, neatness, and cleanliness, which call for daily bathing, combing,
brushing, and changing clothes. If a student’s dress or appearance is deemed
unsatisfactory, the parents will be contacted and expected to help resolve
the matter. Suggested guidelines include:
-
Shorts and skirts must be worn at an
appropriate length.
-
Tank tops, tube tops, halter tops,
see-through materials, mesh shirts and any other materials that might
expose the midriff or chests are inappropriate.
-
T-shirts and other clothing that depict
references to controlled substances, gang affiliations, unacceptable
language and symbols, or that may be sensitive to the culture of
students or staff members are prohibited. No clothing will be permitted
that may be offensive or suggestive to any race, sex, or religion.
-
Pants and trousers must be fastened
properly around the waist. When belts are worn, they are to remain
buckled.
-
Shoes must be worn at all times.
-
No sun/shade glasses are to be worn in
the building unless it is medically prescribed for indoors use.
-
No headgear is to be worn inside of the
building. (i.e. hats, caps, hoods, bandannas, kerchiefs, curlers, etc.)
