Drills: Fire, Tornado, and Lock Down

The law requires that we hold periodic fire drills. Fire drills are an important safety precaution. We will conduct tornado and lock down drills as directed by the county. It is important that students listen and follow the directions of the teacher during any drill. Predetermined routes and stations will be followed during all drills. The teacher will take attendance during this time to assure everyone is accounted for. The teacher will report any missing students to the office. Everyone will return to his or her regular scheduled day after the drill in complete. Students not in the immediate care of their teacher at the time of the drill are to report to the nearest classroom teacher. (i.e. restroom, walking to the office, walking to a resource teacher’s room, or guidance counselor.)

Reminder: Anyone tampering with fire extinguishers or fire alarms is in violation of state law and is subject to being suspended.
