Counselors work in many settings:

 

The Classroom

Counselors may teach students about:

  • study skills                 

  • communication skills

  • problem solving         

  • career choices            

Offices visits

  • one-on-one      

Small Groups

Students with similar concerns can explore their problems together. 

Students may need to talk about:

  • school problems     

  • divorce/separation  

  • loss                         

  • Counselors meet with students, teachers, and parents.

  • Counselors coordinate school programs, events, career days and more.

  • Counselors make referrals to the Department of Social Services, physicians, mental health professionals, teen support groups and more.

  • Counselors work with students to transition to high school.

Counselors assist with the school wide Positive Behavior Support Program.

Rochelle Middle School was award 2010-2011 school year with a Green Ribbon Award.  Jr. Vikings take P.R.I.D.E. in their education.
