Mclass Reading 3D Training

Barbara Seaforth, Reading Specialist and LaToyha Polk, Second Grade Teacher attended a two day MClass 3D workshop that will be implemented at Northeast School. Mrs. Ettie Howard, a consultant from Wireless Generation, provided the participants with intensive hands- on training.

Reading 3D is a measurement tool designed to provide data that documents students’ growth as they acquire literacy skills. Teachers will be able to receive the whole picture of a student's literacy development with the pairing of DIBELS and Reading Records (Text Reading and Comprehension

On the last day of our training Governor Beverly Perdue made a surprise visit discussing the implementation of this new technology, in schools, to enhance student progress in the classroom. She talked about how important this program was to students as well as teachers. In her closing remarks she stated, "I am your biggest cheerleader and supporter."

Reading 3D will not be deemed "just another piece of useless technology". The technology and its web-based resources will allow teachers the tools they need to provide innovative, research-based, and strategic instruction/intervention for all students. Through this innovative, research-based, and strategic approach to learning, teachers will be able to differentiate to meet the needs  of all students to ensure success!
