North Lenoir High School
“Pink Day” Volleyball Event
The NLHS Student – Staff – Alumni – Parent Volleyball event to raise
money for breast cancer research on Saturday, October 29 was a
wonderful day of good fun and impressive team building for a cause.
The members of the NLHS school family (students, parents, staff
members, former students, and other community members) all came
together for a great day of friendly competition with non-stop
volleyball games between each of the four grade levels at North
Lenoir. In addition to the strong participation of students,
the event was enhanced by the participation of special guest players
(staff members, parents, and former NL students).
The volunteer efforts of the parents and other community members,
who made the concessions and raffles prizes, created a wonderful
atmosphere for the event. A special thanks goes out to our corporate
partners in education, such as Chick-fil-A, for their strong
support. NLHS teacher, Mrs. Lynn Thaxton led the NL students in
planning this wonderful event to support the American Cancer Society
and the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Congratulations to NL student
Lindsay W. for planning and coordinating this activity which raised
over $1,000.
