After School Academic/Disciplinary Activities Schedules

Learning Centers are held from 2:50 pm until 4:15 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in designated classrooms.  Transportation is provided.  Click the following link for more information Learning Center Schedule Fall 2012.

1. Students can only make-up excused absences during Saturday School.  Students must    provide their own transportation.
2. Absences cannot be deleted due to make-up time. Make-up time will be recorded separately. (Therefore their attendance profiles will continue to include all absences even if the student stays to make-up absences.)
3. Make-up time can no longer be used to determine athletic eligibility. Even if a student stays to make-up absences, the actual original absences will be used to determine athletic eligibility.
4. Finally make-up time has to be time for time. (Therefore a student can no longer make up a 90 minute class with an hour of time. A student must stay 90 minutes to make up a 90 minute class. As a result we are adding an additional Saturday School to each semester. he new time will allow students to make up three 90 minute blocks during each Saturday School. With three Saturday Schools offered each semester, students will have the opportunity to make up 9 class blocks or 2 full days and 1 additional block.                                                                                                                        5.  Saturday School dates are set for:  December 15, 2012, January 5, 2013, January 12, 2013, May 11, 2013 and June 1, 2013 from 8 to 12:30.

Detention

Detention is held after regular school hours from 2:50 pm until 4:15 pm.  Transportation is not provided for assigned students.

Fifth Period is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday-second semester only.  Students are recommended for this class by their counselor.  The Real-Life curriculum is taught in order to prepare students for the workforce and to earn extra credit.

Credit Recovery is held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in Lab 103 and Lab 105 from 2:50 pm until 5:50 pm.  KHS does provide bus transportation home for students.  Students must consult with their counselor regarding assigned hours.
